In the beginning of 2024, we welcome six volunteers with six nationalities to our charming community.
Bem-Vindo Tammo 🇩🇪
"I am Tammo. After finishing school in my little home town in Northern Germany, I was fortunate enough to spend my time traveling through Europe and North America. I spend 2023 living in Canada. Traveling sparked my interest in culture and languages.
My free time is mostly occupied with reading or exercising.
I am also a passionate cook. Gratitude and love find their way through the stomach!"

"Hello there! My name is Alpha and I'm 24 years old. I'm trying to be a positive person as much as I can. Life's hard but I really believe there's always a little bit of light, even in the darkness. I am also a nature lover. We should definitely care about the state of our Earth because she's beautiful and we're nothing without her. I enjoy night walks while listening to music. It takes a huge place in my life, I can't live without it. Dancing also takes an important part in my heart. Learning the different ways to express ourselves through our bodies is so interesting.
I decided to volunteer because I wanted to go out of my comfort zone, meeting people from different countries and making a change by helping others. I'm really excited to start this new chapter in Portugal."

"Hi there! I'm Lea, a 22 years old Hungarian girl from Slovakia. I'm currently trying to figure out what to do with my life and find my place on the planet. During my time in Cucujães, I want to learn more about the Portuguese culture and the backgrounds of other volunteers, as well as get to know my strengths and flaws better. I can't wait to meet new people, hear their stories and pick up fresh perspectives, motivation – and last but not least – help as much as I can. I like reading, hiking, cooking and baking, although I am not a big eater. :) Currently my favourite TV shows are House M.D. and Gilmore Girls. Hope to meet you soon to make lifelong memories! :)"

"Hello! I'm Giovanni from Perugia, Italy, which is (almost) exactly at the center of the boot!
For now in my spare time I do not cultivate any structured hobby, but I like to read: both fiction and nonfiction, and I enjoy spending time in nature: just to walk or to forget about urbanization for a short moment. I really enjoy discussing with other people, especially regarding philosophical arguments.
I hope this volunteer activity will help me to better understand myself and my future.
